A night's-worth of old time radio entertainment from the month of June. Bob Hope & Bing Crosby, Jack Paar, Ronald Colman, Cavalcade of America, Philip Marlowe, Dinah Shore & Phil Harris, Inner Sanctum, and Roz Russell as Mildred Pierce! File quality varies, so if you're a purist... sorry. This is just for folks who want an alternative to what currently passes for summer TV entertainment.

40 OTR programs from 1939-1986 -- comedy, drama, detective, variety, and so on. Most are half-hour shows, a couple are about 15 minutes each, and one is about 45 mins. Also, all are in glorious lo-fi, so beware if you're a purist.

The Caustic Continuum is a show produced by a loose collection of persons creating various forms of media, with an emphasis on Radio Theater. Primary influences are This American Life, Joe Frank, Midnight Voicejail and Old Time Radio. Shows are produced in an “exquisite corpse” fashion; that is, a theme, topic or subject is chosen and the members contribute media which is then edited into an hour long “podcast.” The description of the parameters for the first episode: Bill Stickers is...

This recording contains portions of the Bob and Ray Radio show on WOR New York. The recording exhibits an under layer of another radio show due to misaligned erase and recording heads. There is also evidence of badly needed degaussing of the original equipment. The editing was done "on the fly" by pushing the record button while the radio played. Many of the clips are missing the beginning or ending of the bits due to this process. My heartfelt thanks go to whoever recorded this tape....

This Duke Ellington comes from a rare recording that I got in a trade from a European collector. The cassette tape was then taken into Sound Forge and I removed all of the noise that I could without doing any damage to the music. A light EQ job really brightened things up and a few minor edits fixed some glitches and pops. This is the work of an important American artist and needs to be saved. As of right now this show has not been issued or bootlegged that I know of. The production and...

Some Kind Of Satisfaction - File Fill That Hammer Guy Ted de Corsia - 1954 An episode of That Hammer Guy with Ted de Corsia, not found in the other collections on Internet Archive. The sound quality is a bit rough (as is the lead character), roughly on par with the other episodes available on IA. The story, characters, and acting are all very satisfying; the story is complete, but the show's wrap-up is missing. This series debuted on the Mutual network on January 6 1953 and ran until...

Code 12-25: Tearjerker In Progress Dragnet - The Big Little Jesus December 22, 1953 Crime never stops, even for Christmas. While the usual parade of criminal activity continues, however, Sergeant Friday and Officer Smith are faced with a most unusual crime: the theft, from a church, of a statue of the infant Jesus. The officers follow standard investigative procedure. They interview potential witnesses, learn what they can about the possible motive, question a likely suspect, and most...

Curtain - File Fill The Whistler August 16, 1953 An episode of The Whistler not currently found in the OTRR collection. Like most Whistler episodes of this era, this is a rather subdued tale concentrating on the motives and modus operandi of the central character, rather than an over-the-top story of violence. In that context, Curtain is a very satisfying listen. Bill Forman plays The Whister, and featured in the cast are Lamont Johnson, Frances Robinson, Eddie Marr, and Bob Bruce, in a story...

The Off-Beat Generation Dragnet - The Big Guilt November 23, 1952 The Big Guilt is the tale of a murder investigation. This episode doesn't open with a blaze of gunfire, a story of love and betrayal, or an adventure involving a clutch of precious jewels. It opens with a body found in an alley at sunrise. The characters are simple: A drunk looking for a place to flop, not knowing with whom he is sharing his alley. A friend who owns a business nearby. An ex-con who had been seen with...
